A regulatory initiative allowing firms legally established in the UK to test new technologies like DLT for issuing, trading, and settling digital securities (shares, bonds) under modified rules, aiming to foster innovation while maintaining financial stability.
- DSS operational to Dec 2028 (but can be extended)
- Financial instruments which could be issued and traded digitally in the DSS include equities, bonds (corporate and government), fund units, emission allowances, money market instruments (CP and CDs)
- Stablecoins and e-money excluded
